Description
Details
The damaru (hand drum) is one of the key ritual implements within the tantric practices of Tibetan Buddhism. It represents the accomplishment of great bliss and is said to proclaim the sound of emptiness.
Damarus are typically adorned with a sash or tail-like ornament known as chopen. The chopen represents the victory banner which proclaims our triumph in vanquishing our inner maras and the prison of our materialistic mind.
This traditional damaru tail is made of rich blue cotton and is hand-embroidered on both sides with the Eight Auspicious Signs. The padded apex is further embroidered with Tibetan motifs and decorated with red tassels and faux pearls.
Suitable for damarus of all sizes and for chöd drums.
