In ancient Tibet, respected personages such as high lamas, honoured guests and heads of families were usually served tea in a traditional teacup (without handles), placed on an ornate stand and covered with an equally ornate lid. The tradition continues to this day in Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and high lamas' ladrangs.

This handcrafted ceremonial lama cup stand consists of an eight-petaled lotus stand and matching cover, featuring carvings of the eight auspicious signs and other traditional Tibetan motifs. Also known as a dhakya set, it is suitable for making offerings to lamas during Buddhist ceremonies and rituals, or to your guru's image on your personal shrine.

  • Handcrafted from copper by Himalayan artisans.
  • Natural copper finish.
  • Intricately carved with the Eight Auspicious Signs.

It can be filled with hot tea, auspicious rice or any other food or drink offering. If you are making the offering at your shrine or altar, the lid is usually kept closed to prevent insects and dust from contaminating the offering.

* Cup not included
* As each item is handcrafted, variations in shape, colour and finishing may occur from piece to piece. These do not impact its spiritual function and benefits.
