Create the causes to attain a Buddha’s body and mind by offering this jewel-shaped liuli crystal carved with the seed syllable HUM and Dorje Shugden’s holy mantra in Tibetan.

The sacred syllable HUM represents the enlightened mind. HUM is also the seed syllable of many Buddhas including Yamantaka and Dorje Shugden. Thus, this crystal offering symbolises your aspiration to achieve the mind of a Buddha.

Furthermore, when we offer precious substances or their representations to the enlightened beings, it creates the causes for us to attain a Buddha’s body — one that is healthy, pleasant and possesses charisma that leads others to the Dharma. Through offering these precious items, we also begin to cut our attachments to the objects we hold dear.

About Dorje Shugden

Dorje Shugden is a special Dharma Protector who quickly fulfils wishes and sincere prayers. He brings healing, harmony and peace, protects from harm and obstacles, and attracts opportunities for success and growth.

Known as a wealth Buddha, he brings sincere devotees vast merits and material resources for virtuous activities. As a wrathful emanation of Manjushri, he grants improved concentration, clarity of mind and great wisdom to anyone who propitiates him.

Dorje Shugden brandishes a sword in his right hand, cutting away our ignorance and negative states of mind which are the basis of all our suffering. In his left hand, he holds a heart jewel that symbolises the legendary wish-fulfilling jewel that can grant us whatever we desire, and our deepest innermost wish – enlightenment.

His practice is incredibly effective because of our strong affinity and karmic connection with him. He is also the special protector of the 600-year-old Gelugpa lineage founded by Lama Tsongkhapa.

About Precious Offerings

Offerings are an essential part of Tibetan Buddhism. According to Buddhist belief, the offering of any pure and precious substance to the Buddhas helps us collect merits, gain spiritual attainments, and creates the causes to attain a Buddha’s body — one that is healthy, pleasant and possesses charisma that leads others to the Dharma.

The offering of precious items which represent spiritual and material wealth, also helps us reduce our attachments to the objects we hold dear. This is essential to advance in our spiritual practice. For this reason, Buddhists are also traditionally encouraged to offer the best within their ability and means.

In the case of offering bowls and mandala sets, grains such as rice and barley were traditionally used to fill the offering vessels. These days however, precious and semi-precious stones are the offering substances of choice.

This practice of generosity also applies to Buddha statues and wealth vases. We can offer gold, jewels, pearls, and other precious substances such as silks and brocades. Our founder Tsem Rinpoche always encouraged this practice of making offerings as it creates the causes for us to attain the Six Paramitas (Six Perfections).
