Vajrayogini is a representation of complete Buddhahood in female form, whose practices are associated with the Chakrasamvara Cycle of Anuttarayoga Tantra. Her practice is one of the most effective for people today because the commitments are significantly 'easier' compared to the other Higher Yoga Tantras. This is reflected in her simple form (of one face, two arms and two legs) and relatively short daily practice - sadhana. Vajrayogini’s mantra is so effective that one can recite it without visualisation and still gain some attainments, and her blessings become more powerful as times degenerate.
She is one of H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche’s most sacred and profound practices and is highly recommended by H.H. Pabongka Rinpoche for modern practitioners. In order to create a connection with her, Tsem Rinpoche named the Buddhist organisation he founded 'Kechara', after the name of her Pure Land and Kechara's logo is the seed syllable 'BAM', which embodies Vajrayogini herself in the form of sound.
In line with Rinpoche’s aspirations of spreading Vajrayogini’s lineage, a 2-feet statue of Vajrayogini has been filled with mantras and holy items in the traditional manner, consecrated through puja and ritual, and placed in the Kechara Forest Retreat for the purpose of gold offerings.
On behalf of each sponsor, pure gold dust is offered in the traditional manner originating from ancient Tibet. Gold tablets are mixed with water and liquid glue, and heated before being applied on her image. During this time, sacred ritual music is played as an offering of sound and to please the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Arhats, Dakas and Dakinis with the collection of merit.
Rinpoche has composed a powerful aspirational prayer, to be recited by/on behalf of those making gold offerings to Vajrayogini. If one cannot be present in person at the time of the offering, then make these aspirations:
- To receive Vajrayogini's sacred initiation
- To master the 11 yogas of Vajrayogini's practice
- To become a great practitioner/mahasiddha and become immensely beneficial to sentient beings
- To eventually ascend to Kechara Paradise at the time of death
