Description

Details

A gold-plated copper statue of Kurukulle, the Female Buddha of Love, hand-carved by master craftsmen with full iconographic detail according to traditional scriptural sources. A perfect addition to a small shrine at home, in the workplace, or as part of a portable travel altar.

Also known as Rig Gyema in Tibetan, meaning 'She Who Causes Knowledge' or 'She Who Awakens Non-Dual Awareness', Kurukulle performs magnetising activities that benefit all beings and help us achieve respect, love and support by improving our communication skills and relationships with others.

This popular female deity removes obstacles, improves health and wisdom, and creates good conditions for Dharma practice. She is also the source of the fierce inner heat or tummo.

Red in colour, Kurukulle appears in the form of a youthful maiden with a slightly wrathful expression. She has four arms — her upper two arms hold a bow and arrow while the lower two hold a hook and lasso. Her implements are constructed of red utpala flowers and symbolise her subjugating activities for the accomplishment of all goals. She stands in a dakini pose with one leg stepping on a human form — this represents her trampling on our negativities, namely desire.

This Kurukulle statue can be personalised with a hand-painted face using real gold dust or insertion of mantras and holy items. You can also offer pearls and semi-precious stones, as H.E. Tsem Rinpoche always encouraged the practice of making offerings to the Three Jewels, which creates the causes for us to attain the six paramitas (perfections).
