A brass statue of Four-Armed Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion whose mantra OM MANI PEME HUNG is one of the most commonly recited mantras across all Buddhist traditions around the world. Features an oxidised finish, hand-painted gold face and full iconographic detail according to traditional scriptural sources.
Also known as Kuan Yin (in Chinese), Avalokiteshvara (in Sanskrit) or Kwannon (in Japanese), Chenrezig is known for watching over all sentient beings with great compassion. His serene image blesses our mind stream, and enhances the development of our compassion on the path to enlightenment. His image also encourages harmony, calms the immediate environment and grants protection from negative energy.
His four arms represent the Four Immeasurables of loving kindness, joy, equanimity and compassion. Two hands are folded in prayer, holding a wish-fulfilling jewel at his heart. In this same way, he holds Bodhicitta, or selfless love for all sentient beings closest to his heart. He inspires us to practise real inner transformation of our negative qualities, thus becoming truly beautiful from the inside out.
This Chenrezig statue can be personalised with traditional brocade clothing, pearls and semi-precious stones, as H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche always encouraged the practice of making offerings to the Three Jewels, which creates the causes for us to attain the six paramitas (perfections).
