Shide Tibetan Herbal Remedy

Tibet is home to one of the world’s oldest healing traditions. Also known as Sowa Rigpa, traditional Tibetan medicine is based primarily on the Indian Buddhist scriptures, Vajrayana Tantras, and Ayurvedic healing system. It includes remedies formulated from natural ingredients such as medicinal plants, herbs and minerals to treat the body, mind and spirit in an integrated holistic way.

The healing power of Tibetan medicine arises from a combination of effective diagnosis, potent herbal treatments, and the power of prayer. Tibetan herbal remedies are traditionally empowered with the blessings of healing deities such as Medicine Buddha. Additional mantras can be recited before taking the medicine or treatment to further increase its potency.

Shide is a Tibetan herbal remedy that is traditionally used as a kidney tonic for purification. It is also known to help with general pain and weakness.

Originally made under the auspices of the healing lama H.E. Gangchen Rinpoche, our Shide pills are still produced in accordance with scriptural tradition and blessed with prayer and rituals.

Directions for Use

• Chew 3 pills each morning and swallow with warm water.


• Insert into statues or stupas at the lotus/throne level.


• Place on the altar as an offering of medicine for healing and longevity.


• Store in a cool, dry place.
