Frankincense Backflow Incense Cones

These Nepali backflow incense cones are handmade from essential oils, exotic flowers, aromatic powdered wood and scented with frankincense.

Unlike regular incense cones, backflow incense cones are semi-hollow with an opening at the base. When this opening is aligned with the hole in a backflow incense burner, the smoke is pulled downwards, creating stunning cascading smoke effects such as the illusion of a waterfall or misty mountains - all depending on the design of your backflow burner.

Backflow incense cones can also be used with a normal incense cone burner but it will not have any cascading smoke effect.

Each cone burns for approximately 15 minutes.

Directions for Use

• Light the tip of the incense cone.
• Gently extinguish the flame by blowing or fanning. The cone should be gently smouldering and releasing delicate wisps of fragrant smoke.
• Place on a backflow incense burner with the tip facing up. Ensure that the hole at the base of the cone aligns with the hole on the backflow burner.
• When the cone starts to burn at the hollow section, the cascading smoke effect will begin.
• To maximise the cascading effect, burn in a place that is not breezy or draughty.
• Ensure the surface below the incense burner is heat-proof, as some hot ash may fall onto the surface below.
• Alternatively, place the lit cone in a bowl burner on a bed of natural ash.
