Details
His four faces and four arms indicate his realization of the four noble truths. One arm brandishes the wisdom sword of Manjushri indicating the sword-like capacity of his practice to cut asunder delusions and obstacles. Another hand wields a tantric staff which ends with a trident, representing the transmutation of ignorance, pride and anger, the root causes of our suffering.
Four faced Mahakala is one of the primary protectors of the Gelugpa sect - he is the main protector of Drepung Loseling Monastery and various Khangtsens in Gaden monastery. As the main protector of the Chakrasamvara tantras, he is invincible in protecting one’s inner space from maras and from outer interferences.
This puja calls upon Four Faced Mahakala's ferocious nature to eliminate all obstacles and forces that hinder the petitioner's spiritual path. Mahakala swiftly responds to heartfelt prayers and destroys anger, depression, confusion and ignorance in order to help one to gain wisdom.
Available in Small and Medium puja sizes, depending on the scale of the problem.
