Details

A set of 5 copper statues of the Five Dhyani Buddhas, handcrafted with full iconographic detail according to traditional scriptural sources.

The Five Dhyani Buddhas are transcendent Buddhas visualised in tantric meditation, and are considered to be the embodiment of the five aggregates in their purified form. Representing different aspects of enlightened consciousness, each Buddha can aid in our spiritual transformation by helping us overcome the five major delusions of ignorance, pride, jealousy, hatred and desire.

  • Ratnasambhava represents the Aggregate of Feeling and he bestows the Wisdom of Equality as the perfect antidote for pride. Yellow in colour, his right hand is in the varada or boon-granting mudra, signifying his ability to help us overcome miserliness.

  • Akshobhya represents the Aggregate of Consciousness and he bestows Non-Dual Wisdom as the perfect antidote for anger. His mantra is very powerful for clearing general negative karmas. Blue in colour, his right hand is in the bhumisparsa or earth-touching mudra, signifying his unshakeable strength.

  • Vairocana represents the Aggregate of Form and he bestows All Encompassing Wisdom as the perfect antidote for ignorance. White in colour, his hands are in the dharmachakra or teaching mudra.

  • Amitabha represents the Aggregate of Discrimination and he bestows the Wisdom of Discrimination as the perfect antidote for desire. Red in colour, his hands are in the dhyana or meditation mudra, symbolising mercy and wisdom. He holds a begging bowl filled with the nectar of immortality.

  • Amoghasiddhi represents the Aggregate of Mental Formation and he bestows All Accomplishing Wisdom as the perfect antidote for envy. Green in colour, his right hand is in the abhaya mudra, epitomising fearlessness towards delusions.

These statues can be personalised with traditional mantra insertion, rich brocade clothing or a hand-painted face, using real gold dust. You can also offer semi-precious stones & pearls, as H.E. Tsem Rinpoche always encouraged the practice of making offerings to the Three Jewels, which creates the causes for us to attain the six paramitas (perfections).
