Description
Details
A handcrafted gold and silver-plated copper bumpa with intricate carvings of the Eight Auspicious Signs and other Tibetan motifs on the base and upper rim. The spout features detailed carvings of the Tibetan water dragon known as chu-sing.
Also known as a ritual vase, the bumpa is typically used during Vajrayana Buddhist rituals including prayer ceremonies such as the rabney consecration ceremony, purification rituals such as trüsol and chabtrü, and tantric empowerments and initiations.
The bumpa usually holds blessed water mixed with saffron and other ritual substances such as chagyu bumze or lamey bumze - depending on the type of ritual being performed. Includes a traditional Tibetan brass mirror and bumpa flourish made from peacock feathers and brocade, and adorned with a turquoise stone.
