Description

Details

A gold-plated copper statue of Four-Armed Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion whose mantra OM MANI PEME HUNG is one of the most commonly recited mantras across all Buddhist traditions around the world. Hand-carved by master craftsmen with full iconographic detail according to traditional scriptural sources, it is suitable as an object of veneration for smaller or travel altars and for all who would like to tap into Chenrezig's compassionate and peaceful energies.

Also known as Kuan Yin (in Chinese), Avalokiteshvara (in Sanskrit) or Kwannon (in Japanese), Chenrezig is widely revered for watching over all sentient beings with great compassion. His serene image blesses our mind stream, and enhances the development of our compassion on the path to enlightenment. His image also encourages harmony, calms the immediate environment and grants protection from negative energy.

His four arms represent the Four Immeasurables of loving kindness, joy, equanimity and compassion. Two hands are folded in prayer, holding a wish-fulfilling jewel at his heart. In this same way, he holds Bodhicitta, or selfless love for all sentient beings closest to his heart. He inspires us to practise real inner transformation of our negative qualities, thus becoming truly beautiful from the inside out.

This statue can be personalised with a hand-painted face using real gold dust or insertion of mantras and holy items. You can also offer pearls and semi-precious stones, as H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche always encouraged the practice of making offerings to the Three Jewels, which creates the causes for us to attain the six paramitas (perfections).
